THE BEST PLAYER! ESCAPE ROOM GUIDE
If you are getting ready to set a record when entering your chosen escape room, you will definitely need a strategy. Interestingly, the fastest players are also usually the Game Masters’ favorite customers! We are proud not only of your score but also of how you tackled the room. Wanting to improve your technique, you will definitely find the “escape room guide” useful – here it is!
1. TO BEGIN WITH – RECONNAISSANCE!
When entering a room, split up and look at every corner very carefully. Inform each other about your finds, maybe someone will spot a three-digit padlock, the code for which will catch the eye of a player from the other end of the room? Search the room thoroughly, and there won’t be a puzzle you can’t handle! This also applies to the sounds in the room, the hooting of an owl or the ringing of a doorbell can hide a secret message.
2. DON’T MOVE ALL THE PROPS
If you find a moving item in the escape room then your instincts are probably not wrong and it is part of some puzzle! It’s worth having it in the back of your mind, but sometimes it will take you a while to discover its purpose. Leave it near the place where it was at the beginning – it will be easier for you to return to it later, and there is a good chance that you won’t need to carry it somewhere far away at all 😉
3. REMEMBER THE ELEMENTS YOU HAVE ALREADY USED
In most exit rooms, and certainly in Gamescape Cracow, there is a “one key – one padlock” rule, extended to all puzzles in the room. If you’ve already used something, you probably won’t use it for the next puzzle, but if you need a hint it’s worth telling the Game Master what you ended up with. In rooms where one puzzle leads to another, this will facilitate communication and help the Game Master judge what you should do next.
4. DON’T LOSE SIGHT OF THE GOAL OF THE GAME
In story rooms, you usually enter the escape room with a specific purpose – looking for evidence of a crime, a missing scientist, pirate gold or a magical artifact. In the frenzy of solving puzzles, you may forget why you were there, and this will make it difficult for you to leave the room. Keep in mind what you’re looking for, and you certainly won’t get sidetracked!
